Year Of The Coral Dragon

I'm updating this review to 1 star. I sent a message on December 6th letting them know I ran out of DMC 894. It's been over a month with no communication. I will not order from this shop again.

Finally completed. I would say about 120 hours ish. Due to the confetti on this canvas. A 4 inch by 4 inch section was 2-2.5 hours to complete. Eight months to complete. I don't like confetti so that's why it took so long.

Sparkle 5/5. Probably even more than DAC in my opinion

Rendering 3/5 I don't think the skin tone transferred well to diamond painting form. If you look at the original art work there is some shadowing on her neck, but Her jawline is dark brown and her face is Coral pink/ white. Her ear is pinkish orange. Looks odd to me. Random blue drill in her eyebrow. I would have liked to see more details in her eye color. Maybe a larger canvas that is hand rendered instead of computer charted.

Drill quality: There was a lot of trash in this kit. Bits of plastic and drills with holes or tabs. More so than any I've used before. Perhaps this is why I ran out of a drill color. You can't use sqaures with tabs or drills won't line up. Plus side, there were no gaps in the drills and grid spacing was good after getting rid of the trash.

79 colors. When ordering a kit it doesn't tell you how many colors are in the canvas. Or an estimated drill count. I didn't know until I opened it.

I ordered AB and fairy dust drills. They sent AB and metallic.

Special drills are not included in kits and you have to pay extra for. $5 for each AB and FD. It's not clear when you order how many you get for the price. it's only two colors.

I never got the fairy dust drills. She said I could ship it back for the correct ones,but I would have to pay the return shipping myself and wait for the correct order to be placed. Plus,waiting another 2-3 months. I wasn't willing to do that for only two drill colors. So she gave me a gift card instead.

No girdlines for square kits, you have to pay extra. A feature I didn't know I liked until I got a kit without them.

No tool kit or wax. ( I don't need one, just letting people know.)

I ran out of a drill color 894. No response from the shop and it's been 10 days. She asked if that was the only color missing I said yes and have heard nothing since. I had to give up and just use a different color because it's a gift. Yes she's pregnant, but this was an $80 canvas with wrong drills sent.

Shipping cost before tarrifs was expensive $17 It didn't come in a box either it was just wrapped in plastic.

I waited five weeks to get this which she is up front about.

Kitting this up took forever because the way the drills are packed. Instead of two big bags you get 10 small ones. For 79 colors it was a two hour process.

The two stars was mostly for the experience. This was $125 order. The wrong drills were sent. I ran out of a drill color. Plus this had a mini cross stitch conversion and the PDF chart wasn't in my Email or spam folder and I had to reach out to complete. At least this was on sale and not full price because it wouldn't be worth it.

I do have another canvas from this shop to give them another chance. Hopefully It's a better experience.

The symbols are very clear and easy to see, canvas is sticky and the drills are chef's kiss. So happy I ordered one of the recommended sizes because I really LOVE this image.
